Education Minister Mitzie Hunter (centre) with friends from Green Communities Canada and Heart and Stroke

Green Communities Canada is receiving $3.5 M over the next three years (2017-20) for a project to boost active school travel across the province of Ontario. Ontario Active School Travel, funded by the Ontario Ministry of Education, includes two main elements:

  • centralized support for local active school travel programming, including resources, training, mentoring, peer-networking, research and more.
  • application-based funding for active school travel programming in communities with demonstrated commitment and partnerships in place, and matching funds (cash and in-kind) from local partners.

Stay tuned for more details – further updates will be provided once the project is ready to be launched. If you would like to receive project news updates by email, please fill in the form below.
