Did you know some routes in your neighbourhood are better for walking or biking than others?

Work with school community partners as part of your school travel action plan to map out best routes to school. For example, identify routes in your school community that:

• Many students and families are already comfortable using  (e.g. have sidewalks, are on slow speed roads)

• Have points where people can safely cross the road  (e.g. crossing guards, crosswalks, stop lights)

• Are the shortest distance between the school and homes

Ask your school to share best routes to school maps with parents and students! More at
